David Shockey, M.D.
Dr. David Shockey is an Arizona native who attended Mesa Mountain View High School and graduated from Arizona State University summa cum laude with bachelor's degrees in Biological Science and Psychology.
Dr. Shockey earned his Medical Degree (M.D.) from UT Health San Antonio, graduating first in his class. He completed a residency at the University of Arizona in Emergency Medicine and is board certified in Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Shockey is a certified Aviation Medical Examiner (AME), currently providing Class II and Class III examinations and certifications. He has a love for wilderness medicine and global health, having traveled to all seven continents and participated in expeditions to Mount Kilimanjaro, Antarctica, and Mt. Everest Base Camp.
Dr. Shockey has published and presented research on high-altitude medicine and point-of-care ultrasound, periodically works as a "ringside doc" for professional Mixed Martial Arts events, and serves as an emergency physician in Scottsdale. He has competed in ultramarathons and triathlons, helping him understand how to achieve peak performance.
In his spare time, Dr. Shockey enjoys hiking, pickleball, basketball, and is working toward his private pilot license.
